<\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\nThe coronation of Charles III and his wife, Camilla, as king and queen of the United Kingdom and the other Commonwealth realms is scheduled to take place on Saturday, 6 May 2023, at Westminster Abbey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Weymouth Town Council is set to put on 3 days of celebrations. The celebrations will cost the town council in the region of \u00a325,000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Two initiatives have already been agreed upon, costing \u00a34000:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
- \n
- Tree for local schools<\/strong> <\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Small grants available for community celebrations<\/strong> (up to \u00a3350)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
\u00a34,000 was allocated from the Services Events Reserve, leaving \u00a321,000 available for other projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Activities will likely include (subject to Full Council Approval):<\/p>\n\n\n\n

- Coronation Concert<\/strong> on Beach <\/strong>– a budget requirement of around \u00a38,200<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Seafront firework display<\/strong> – a budget requirement of \u00a36,000<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Coronation Big Help Out \/ Clean up grants<\/strong> -a budget requirement of \u00a31,000<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
The Services committee agreed that the required budget for the celebrations is derived from the Services Events Reserve of \u00a321,000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
