Two women were reportedly assaulted by a male individual in the vicinity of Westwey Road in Weymouth.
Upon receiving the call, Police promptly responded to the location and apprehended a 28-year-old male suspect on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.
Following the arrest, the suspect was transported via air ambulance to a hospital for treatment of a head injury reportedly sustained during the altercation.
Emergency services, including Police, Paramedics, Firefighters, and an Air Ambulance, swiftly converged on Westwey Road at approximately 11:53 PM on Monday, April 29th. The individual in question was airlifted to Southampton General Hospital by the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance.
One of the victims was promptly located and received treatment for minor injuries. However, as of now, the identity of the second victim remains unknown by Police.
A Spokesperson from the Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue stated, “We were called at 11:53pm yesterday with a requested to assist the ambulance service and HEMS doctors at an incident on Westwey Road, Weymouth. One fire engine from Weymouth was mobilised and requested to provide lighting to assist them in dealing with a patient. The stop came in at 00:25am.”
Additionally, a spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) reported, “We were called at 23:31hrs on Monday 29 April to an incident in Weymouth. We sent one air ambulance, two double-crewed land ambulances and two operations officers to the scene and conveyed one patient by air ambulance to Southampton General Hospital.”
