A body was discovered on Chesil Beach earlier today, raising suspicions that it may be the remains of missing individual Joe Clements from Weymouth. Dorset Police received a report at 5:45 am on Wednesday, July 5, 2023, regarding the discovery.

Although formal identification has not yet taken place, authorities strongly believe the body to be that of Joe Clements, who was reported missing after his last sighting on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at approximately 11 am. The family of Joe has been notified of the sad discovery.

The authorities have stated that they do not consider the death to be suspicious, and HM Coroner has been informed to initiate the necessary procedures. Chief Inspector Andy Edwards, representing Dorset Police, expressed his condolences to Joe’s family and loved ones during this immensely challenging time. He assured them that law enforcement officers are providing all possible support and assistance.

The search for Joe Clements, a Weymouth resident, had been ongoing since his disappearance was reported last month. The discovery of the body on Chesil Beach has brought distress and sorrow to the local community, who had hoped for a different outcome.

The authorities have not disclosed any further details regarding the circumstances surrounding Joe’s death. The investigation is ongoing, and the police are working diligently to gather more information to shed light on the events leading to this tragic incident.
