Weymouth Carnival was cancelled for this year but organisers have stepped up their game promising an alternative event which promises to be filled with fun and excitement for the whole family.
The Weymouth Carnival Fun Day is set to be a spectacular event, bringing together residents and visitors for a day filled with joy, entertainment, and community spirit. Scheduled for Wednesday 14th August 2024 at Redlands Leisure & Community Park, Dorchester Road, Weymouth, Dorset, DT3 5AW.
The Fun Day promises a variety of attractions, including thrilling rides, engaging games, delicious food stalls, traders and live performances from local bands and acts in the arena.
The anticipation surrounding the event is palpable, with meticulous planning and tireless efforts from the committee ensuring that every detail is in place for an unforgettable experience. Kallum Gethins, the Director and Chairman of the Weymouth Carnival Committee, shares his enthusiasm and appreciation for the hard work that has gone into making the Fun Day a reality.
Recently, the committee outlined it’s plan to combat inconsiderate parking along Dorchester Road, and surrounding residential roads by implementing on-site parking during the event, you can buy tickets in advance. here.
Signage along the road and paths will guide people to the designated parking areas for the event including Mount Pleasant Park & Ride which is only a 10 minute walk away from the venue.
Organisers have also said they aim to raise funds for the Lantern Trust, a local charity that offers housing support along with a variety of support. Funds will also be raised for Weymouth Carnival to help revive it for 2025.
